hOur Heart To Heart Market was a huge success!! We raised over $1500 for the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society. Those quarters really do add up!! Thank you to all parents who came and supported us and who supported in other ways by donating materials and supplies or helped to make things at home. You are all so terrific!
We are learning about telling time on an analog clock. Kinda tricky for some of us. If you can take the opportunity to explain how to tell time on an analog clock at home that would be helpful. We read a story (Weslandia) about a boy named Wesley who created his own civilization in his back yard. It all started with a pack of seeds. We are using this book as a jump start to think about where in the world we would build our own civilization out of the 4 countries we are studying in Social Studies. We are trying to think of a place where we feel the people will have a good quality of life. So the place must be near water. As well we are learning about how to care for the earth in Our Waste in Our World unit in science. So our civilization must have renewable resources and more earth friendly forms of energy. Students will investigate the goods and services that could be available to anyone who decides to move to our civilization. And of course, the population must have jobs available when they move to our civilization so students will need to consider industries to promote their land.
